2025 Year in Review

When 2025 started, I wasn’t exactly sure what was in store for me. What I did know was that I wanted to flip the table around…to help where I could, to show up for people the way so many have shown up for me the last 10 years, and to build something that would be my long play.

I’ve never been a fan of how traditional VC operates. It never felt right. It never felt like me. I always believed there was a better way to actually support founders, from the trenches. So I spent this year doing what I’ve always done when I don’t know the full path ahead: I started. I started helping. I started opening doors wherever I could.

And looking back now… it’s incredible to see what 2025 became.

This was our first full year in the Northeast and it turned into one of the most meaningful stretches of my career and my life. I can’t express enough what being in this area has done for me on so many levels with so many of you. I met amazing people across New York, Connecticut, Boston, and beyond. Many of you on this email started as introductions or chance encounters and ended up becoming true friends, trusted partners, mentors, investors, advisors…people who genuinely believed in what I was building.

I spent most of the year pounding the pavement in NYC, making the trek to Boston constantly, flying all over the country to events, shaking hands, meeting new faces, telling the 51Ventures story. And I wasn’t ready for what came of it.

Somewhere along the way, we have managed to build something special to many.

When I finally went out to raise outside capital, I felt incredibly fortunate to have early friends who jumped in without hesitation. They saw the vision the same way I did. They believed in what this could become. They believed in me. And because of that, 51v exists today with momentum, early wins, and conviction behind it from many walks of life.

To every single person who opened a door, took a meeting, sent a message, made an intro, offered advice, invested, partnered, collaborated, or simply encouraged — thank you. You played a part in this year. You played a part in helping me take this from an idea to a platform.

51v is what it is today because of you.
